Whitehall HS RB, Saquon Barkley
This fall Whitehall High School’s stud running back Sa’quon Barkley took the Lehigh Valley Conference by storm. He has dominated the field as a runner, receiver, and as a linebacker wreaking havoc whenever he has the ball in his hands. He currently leads the LVC in rushing and will be the man to stop when 7-1 Whitehall takes on league rival Easton who has a matching record. Easton has a tough defense that has been stout against the run. Look for them to load the box and make Sa’quon work for his yardage.
Another intriguing matchup will be the head to head competition with Easton running back Shane Simpson. Shane Simpson is also regarded as one of the top running backs in Pennsylvania and will be given a heavy dose of action during the contest. Shane was awarded the Sledgehammer Award for the top running back at last May’s FASST Elite Camps Brader/Persa Elite Offensive Skills Camp. Sa’Quon has verbally committed to Rutgers University but most recently was offered by Penn State. This will be a matchup the avid football fan will not want to miss.

Dieruff RB Shakur Lester
We had the good fortune last spring to work with one of the top up and coming running backs in the state of Pennsylvania. At the time he was under the radar on the gridiron but that has changed this fall. The turnaround of the Dieruff High School program has been a combination of dedicated coaches, hard working athletes, and the rise of junior running back Shakur Lester. Last spring he made a splash by placing third in the District XI track and field championships by running a FAT 11.02. So far this fall he has been dominant as both a rusher and receiver. He has the breakaway speed to break a game open and has showcased this several times this year by breaking huge plays at critical times. Dieruff is off to its best record in years and are currently 4-3. Look for Shakur and Dieruff to continue turning heads in the MVC and the Lehigh Valley.

Bethlehem Catholic RB, Mike McDaniel
The Week 6 premier game will match up two 4-1 teams in Bethlehem Catholic and Whitehall High School. Bethlehem Catholic is having a turnaround year and has shown that they can score points and in bunches. With play makers like Mike McDaniel who is leading the LVC in scoring and sophomore quarterback Julian Spigner, look for that trend to continue this weekend. Without junior wide receiver Freddie Simmons in the line up, someone will need to step up and fill the void. Every week it seems as if Bethlehem Catholic has been able to rise to the challenge and come through when the game was on the line.
Whitehall HS RB, Saquon Barkley
Whitehall has been a league contender for the past several years and this year isn’t any different. Some of the names have changed but the high octane offense has been a constant. Coming off a tough loss against conference rival Parkland, look for Sa’quon Barkley to carry the load and look for some redemption. This year he has been the catalyst for Whitehall’s success and has ripped off several huge plays. He is currently leading the LVC in rushing yards and recently committed to Rutgers University. If you watch the game this weekend, you will see some offensive fireworks that you don’t want to miss.
